PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding method which can optimally form a twill line, and form a winding package having less occurrence of loosening where a thread is loosened and dropped by own weight during conveyance of the winding package while avoiding ribbon causing defective unraveling or winding collapse. SOLUTION: In the winding method for the thread, a cheese winding package is formed while traversing the thread on a rotating bobbin. The wind ratio constant winding which makes Nsp/Ntr (hereinafter referred to as a wind ratio) to be the ratio of a spindle rotation Nsp [rpm] and a traverse frequency Ntr [cpm] be constant, and the coefficientαrepresented by the formulaα=1/(ε<SB>n1</SB>×J<SB>n</SB>) + 1/(ε<SB>n2</SB>×J<SB>n+1</SB>) is 45-100.
