<p>Light (2) from a subject to be imaged enters a lens system (3) and is transmitted/absorbed by a color filter (5). The transmitted component enters an image sensor (4) and the image is captured. The color filter (5) is, as shown in Fig. 7(b), composed of transparent pixels (W), a small complementary color filter (W-X) of a color-matching function X, a small complementary color filter (W-Y) of a color matching function Y, and a small complementary color filter (W-Z) of a color matching function Z. These small complementary color filters are so arranged as to correspond to the positions of the respective pixels of the image sensor. Consequently, the lights of whole wavelength components, the X complementary color component, the Y complementary color component, and the Z complementary color component enter the respective pixels, and the image is captured. From the captured image, W-(W-X), W-(W-Y), W-(W-Z) are calculated, and the image corresponding to XYZ is reproduced, thereby realizing imaging with color fidelity. With this, the color imaging element is characterized by capturing a color value more accurate than conventional with high light use efficiency.</p> |
