PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load of a host device concerning a communication interface module and a program thereof. SOLUTION: A communication interface module 7 is provided with a relevance definition database in which the logical names of monitor points of input/output equipment 5 and 6 and the primary physical addresses of the monitor points when they are viewed from a primary controller 3 and the secondary physical addresses of the monitor points when they are viewed form a secondary controller 4 are associated with each other; a status management means for managing the statuses of the controllers 3 and 4; and a parameter access means for, when data are requested from host devices 1 and 2, referring to the relevance definition database and the status information, and for, in a non-redundant state, returning the data of the monitor points to be specified by the primary physical addresses corresponding to the logical names included in the request to the host devices 1 and 2, and for, in a redundant state when the primary controller stops, returning the data of the monitor points to be specified by the secondary physical addresses corresponding to the logical names included in the request.
