PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that has a fixing roller and a pressure roller, wherein paper is surely and stably conveyed to prevent wrinkling and image noise, and shortening of the life of the pressure roller is suppressed. SOLUTION: A prefixing guide 53 is movably held between a contact position where the leading end of the guide is abutted on the peripheral face of the pressure roller 51 and a separation position where they are separated. While adjusted to the timing of the thrust of the leading end of paper S into a fixing nip 521, the prefixing guide 53 in the separation position is moved to the contact position, and the leading end of the paper S is guided to a nip entrance 522.
