PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make blur processing attainable even in a compact digital camera using CCDAF. SOLUTION: A system control section 02 judges an area with closest proximity as an AF area among AF evaluation areas in a central part of an image (step01-004) and in addition, judges a block with the same distance as the AF area as a main subject block (step01-005). Then, the system control section 02 calculates and stores an average brightness of an image data of a position corresponding to the main subject block 103 (step01-006). Then, the system control section 02 judges a main subject area on the basis of obtained information on the main subject block 103 and a photographed image (step01-007). Furthermore, on the basis of an information on the main subject area 104, an extraction processing of the main subject image, a blur processing of a background image and a synthesizing processing are sequentially performed (step01-008 to 010).
