PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance productivity in the work of drawing a pattern on a workpiece by reducing a waiting time needed for starting another line. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a liquid droplet ejection method whereby a liquid is ejected onto a workpiece W while causing a liquid droplet ejection head 10<SB>i</SB>to face the workpiece W and to move relative to the workpiece W, which method is characterized by comprising the first ejection step of ejecting the liquid onto the workpiece W from the liquid droplet ejection head 10<SB>i</SB>while causing the workpiece W to move along a first direction, and the moving step of causing the workpiece W and the liquid droplet ejection head 10<SB>i</SB>to move in mutually opposite directions along a second direction intersecting the first direction roughly at right angles.
