PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable changing of a protruding length (projection allowance) of a cutter by the height adjustment of a base to easily be performed while suppressing the scattering of scraps by a dust collecting case in a cutting tool which forms (cuts out) an inspection port or the like in a ceiling material, a wall plate, or the like. SOLUTION: A base 3 is made holdable by a holding member 6 at an arbitrary interval from the main body 2 in which a driving means such as a motor and a transmitting mechanism of a driving force are housed, and the changing of a protruding length (projection allowance) of the cutter 4 is facilitated. In the meantime, the dust collecting case 5 is fixed to the main body 2, and the dust collecting case 5 is formed into a double cylindrical structure by first and second dust collecting cases 51 and 52 made of a material such as a transparent resin. Then, a spring 53 which urges in the stretching direction is interposed between them. Therefore, even when the adjustment of the protruding length of the cutter 4 is made possible by the height adjustment of the base 3, the scattering of scraps can be suppressed, and at the same time, a blade edge can be checked.
