PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve withstand load of a shelf board, and also to prevent the shelf board from carelessly coming off when the shelf board is supported by using dowel holes. SOLUTION: A shelf apparatus 10 is constituted by disposing the shelf board 13 between a pair of vertical members 11, 12 which are raised opposite to each other. A plurality of dowel holes 16 (16a, 16b), 17 (17a, 17b) are respectively vertically arranged at prescribed intervals at corresponding height positions on the front and back sides of the respective inner side surfaces of vertical members. A reinforcing member 18 is provided at the shelf board, which is extended over the substantially whole width of the front lower side of the shelf board. The shelf board is supported at both ends in the width direction on the back side with the use of back side dowels 15 inserted into the back side dowel holes 17a, 17b in the inner side surfaces of the vertical members. The shelf board is fixed by inserting the front side dowels 15 which are fixed in the lower surfaces of both ends in the width direction of the reinforcing member, into the front side dowel holes 16a, 16b which are arranged in the inner side surfaces of the vertical members at positions lower than those of the back side dowel holes into which the back side dowels are inserted.
