BACK LIGHT UNIT USING FILM TYPE LIGHT GUIDING PLATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

Disclosed is a backlight unit using a film-type light-guiding plate so that a light, slim, and flexible LCD is realized, as well as an LCD having the backlight unit. The backlight unit includes a light source for emitting light in a lateral direction; a lens positioned on one side of the light source so that light emitted by the light source is reflected inside and emitted outward; and a film-type light-guiding member having a thickness smaller than a size of the light source, the light-guiding member being coupled to the lens to receive light emitted by the lens and provide surface light emission.
