<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal for an open type compressor or a fluid device which is increased in resistance against heat and wear, and high in durability, and particularly suitable for a compressor using a carbon dioxide refrigerant which is driven in a high-temperature and high-pressure state. <P>SOLUTION: The shaft seal slide-contacts with the outer surface of a shaft of the open type compressor or the fluid device driven by an external power source, and seals the inside of the compressor or of the fluid device from the outside thereof. At least a sliding section of the shaft seal is formed of a material in which a substance having a melting point in a range of 150 to 300°C is added and uniformly dispersed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
