摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved battery control method to be used for a hybrid electric vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 10 for a hybrid electric system of a hybrid electric vehicle includes a load 24, a battery 22, and a generator 12. A battery charging state estimator 26 generates an estimated charging state signal 28 of the battery 22. An error signal generator 30 generates a charging state error signal 34 by calculating a difference between the estimated charging state signal 28 and a desired charging state signal from a desired charging state source 32. A desired generator current signal 38 is generated by integrating the charging state error signal 34 by a processor 36. A generator current error signal 42 between an actual generator current 18 from the generator 12 and the desired generator current signal 38 is generated.
