<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure that prevents the burning-off of an interval holding material at the time of regeneration treatment and causes no crack in an adhesive layer or a sealant layer at the time of regeneration treatment. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure comprises a ceramic block, which is composed of plurality of columnar honeycomb baked members having a large number of cells provided thereto in parallel in its longitudinal direction so as to interpose cell walls, the adhesive layer for bonding the side surfaces of the honeycomb baked members, and the interval holding material arranged between the side surfaces of the honeycomb baked members, and the sealant layer formed to the outer peripheral surface of the ceramic block.
