摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing simply and efficiently a visible light responsive type photocatalyst using crystalline titanic oxide contained in paper sludge or the like, or titanic oxide having a low photocatalytic activity utilized widely as the use for pigment or the like, as it is, and a photocatalyst-supported structure having a layer of the visible light responsive type photocatalyst on a substrate. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the visible light responsive type photocatalyst comprises the process (I) of keeping a material containing titanate in contact with at least one kind selected from nitrogen-containing compounds and transition metal-containing compounds, and the process (II) of heating the obtained contacted material to 300-700&deg;C under oxidative atmospheres or of acid-treating.
