PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device, capable of setting a counter voltage to an optimum value even if the panel temperature is fluctuated. SOLUTION: The active matrix liquid crystal display device includes a picture element electrode connected to a data bus line through a picture element selection element; a counter electrode having a liquid crystal layer disposed between it and the pixel electrode; a temperature detection means 31 for detecting a panel temperature; and a voltage application means for applying voltage to the counter electrode. The voltage application means outputs and applies the voltage (Vcom) according to the panel temperature detected by the detection means 31 to the counter electrode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
