PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive ball screw with low noises at the time of actuation. SOLUTION: This ball screw 1 comprises a screw shaft 3 having a spiral screw groove 3a on an outer periphery, a nut 5 having a screw groove 5a opposed to the screw groove 3a of the screw shaft 3, and a plurality of balls 9 rollably loaded in a spiral ball rolling path 7 formed by both of the screw grooves 3a, 5a. After grinding, shot-peening is applied to both of the screw grooves 3a, 5a by projecting approximate spherical glass particles of mean particle size of 200μm or less, so surface roughness Ra is 0.15μm or less.
