PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a misfire detecting device of an internal combustion engine capable of preventing degradation of the detection accuracy. SOLUTION: An ECU 20 comprises an indicated torque estimation unit 21 for estimating the indicated torque, and a misfire determining unit 22 for determining misfire based on the indicated torque considering the low frequency components of the indicated torque. Misfire parameters corresponding to the running conditions of an engine are expressed as the low frequency components by the affection of the disturbance. Since the misfire is determined based on the misfire parameters by taking the low frequency components, into consideration, degradation of the detection accuracy of the misfire caused by the affection of the disturbance can be prevented.
