PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filler having both high thermal decomposition resistance and mechanical strength, and excellent in the effect of reinforcing synthetic resin materials, especially the effect of bringing them to higher modulus, and to provide a nonwoven fabric containing the filler. SOLUTION: The filler includes an alkoxyl-containing phenylene alkylene resin, being 1-10,000 nm in minor axis and 1.5 or greater in aspect ratio. It is preferable that the longitudinal length of this filler be 20μm or longer. The nonwoven fabric containing this filler is also provided. Further, a method for producing this filler is provided, by crosslinking and/or electric field spinning of the alkoxyl-containing phenylene alkylene resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
