PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a check storing portion, storing checks in an erected state in a superimposed manner in a thickness direction, so as to suppress the occurrence of jamming and increase the number of stored sheets. SOLUTION: A check 6 sent to a first storing pocket 13 of a check storing portion 10 is pressed against a vertical side surface 32 by check retaining plates 34, 35, and stored in an erected state while superimposed in the thickness direction. A lower part of the vertical side surface 32 becomes a jutting surface 32a, and an upper side of the check 6 is held in a posture tilting to an opposite side so as not to fall to the check retaining plates 34, 35. A wedge-shaped protrusion 37 is formed on a bottom surface 36 of the first storing pocket 13, Sliding of the check is prevented so as not to make the lower side of the check 6 in the tiling posture deviate along the bottom surface and fall to the check restraining plates 34, 35. The falling of the check can be regulated, pressing force of the check restraining plates is made weak, and the number of stored sheets can be increased.
