An SSB(Single Side Band) optical transmitter is provided to reduce its manufacturing cost and its size remarkably by adding only a polarizer to an EML(Electro-absorption Modulator integrated Laser) device. An SCM(Sub-carrier Multiplexed) signal generator(110) generates an SCM signal of a frequency signal, and a distributor(120) divides the SCM signal received the SCM signal generator in 50:50 ratio and outputs the divided SCM signal to an LD(Laser Diode)(131) and an EAM(Electro-absorption Modulator)(132). An EML device is formed by coupling the EMA to the LD, and generates an SSB optical signal by receiving the SCM signal. Here, the LD generates an DSB SCM optical signal by receiving the SCM signal the distributor and modulating the SCM signal according to bias.
