<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fuel cells enabling to suppress further abnormal temperature rise by shutting off a flow path from a fuel storage part to each fuel cell during abnormal temperature rise of the fuel cells. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cells comprise a membrane electrode assembly having a fuel pole, an air pole, and an electrolyte membrane held between the fuel pole and the air pole, a fuel supply part connected to the fuel pole via the flow path, and a fuel shut-off part laid in the flow path for shutting off fuel to be supplied to the fuel pole during abnormal temperature rise. The fuel shut-off part consists of a valve case having a filling port into which the fuel is filled from the fuel supply part and a discharge port from which the fuel is discharged to the fuel pole, a valve rod arranged in the valve case, and a valve rod moving means having a spring or a bimetal formed of a shape memorizing alloy for moving the valve rod to close the flow path linking the filling port to the discharge port during abnormal temperature rise. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
