PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a location information system capable of providing location information, over wider range. SOLUTION: A mobile terminal 1 carried by a user includes: a light receiving part 11 receiving a light signal SL which is transmitted from each of a plurality of luminaires 2 and indicates the location of the luminaire 2; and a GPS-positioning part 12 performing the positioning by receiving the GPS signal from a GPS satellite. Also, the mobile terminal includes a control part 14, that controls a display part 13 and displays either the locations obtained from the light signal SL, received at the light-receiving part 11 or the location obtained from the GPS positioning part 12. The location can be obtained over wider range, as compared to the mobile terminal 1 having only either the light-receiving part 11 or the GPS-positioning part 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
