The motor (1) has tube-shaped inner and outer housing parts that are connected with one another by radially running bars. A motor unit (50) is arranged inside the inner housing part, and a power electronics is connected with the outer housing part. A flow channel (27) for cooling air is formed between the housing parts, and a fan wheel (11) arranged on a rotor shaft passes the cooling air through the channel for cooling the motor and the power electronics. An independent claim is also included for a method for cooling a converter motor.
