The bone die cutter (50) includes a housing (52) with a handle (68) and an alignment bolt (69) that passes through the handle and the housing to fix the device to the bone. Partially disposed within the housing are a pair of translating arms (70,72) which may be advanced towards the bone surface. The distal ends of the arms carry either blades on a cutting die (82,84) or a saw guide slot. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method of cutting bone with a bone die cutter; and (b) a method of performing tibial tubercle osteotomy.
