摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control system of an internal combustion engine capable of attaining concurrently the excellent mixing of an additive agent and exhaust gas and the uniform diffusion-atomization of the additive agent into the exhaust gas, thus enabling a catalyst device to exhibit maximum control capability. <P>SOLUTION: A Venturi-shaped mixing chamber 13 is provided on the upstream side of an SCR catalyst 16 in an exhaust pathway 10. A fin device 18 for generating a swirl flow is arranged at an uppermost-stream position in the mixing chamber 13, and an injection nozzle 19 for emitting a jet of a urea water solution is arranged at the upstream side of a throttle 13b of the mixing chamber 13 and the downstream side of the fin device 18. Consequently, both a distance Lf from the fin device 18 to the throttle 13b and a distance Ln from the injection nozzle 19 to the SCR catalyst 16 are made longer as compared to the case that the injection nozzle 19 is disposed in the throttle 13b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
