ANTIBODY FOR INHIBITING BLOOD COAGULATION AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antibody for inhibiting blood coagulation and a method for the use of the antibody.

SOLUTION: The antibody is a monoclonal antibody binding to native human TF in vivo in high affinity and specificity. Such antibody can bind native human TF, either alone or in the presence of a TF:VIIa complex, effectively preventing factor X from binding to TF or the complex, and thereby reducing blood coagulation. The antibody can specifically bind a conformational epitope predominant to native human TF.
