<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal processing apparatus capable of performing luminance correction for preventing a discomfort feeling from being given to a user when the luminance of a video signal is rapidly changed. <P>SOLUTION: The video signal processing apparatus comprises a luminance acquiring section which periodically acquires the luminance of a video signal reproduced by a video reproduction means and records the luminance in a recording section. When switching from program text to a commercial, or the inverse switching thereof is detected by a switching detecting section, a luminance comparing section reads out and compares the luminance before switching detection and luminance after switching detection recorded in the recording section. When a difference between both the luminance exceeds a prescribed value as a result of comparison, the luminance of the video signal is changed into a value within a prescribed range by a luminance correcting section using a luminance setting section. Furthermore, a change amount monitoring section is provided which monitors a change amount at each prescribed time of luminance acquired by the luminance acquiring section and when it is detected by the change amount monitoring section that the change amount exceeds the prescribed value, the luminance correcting section is used to correct the luminance of the video signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
