<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) superior in power generation performance and durability. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly includes a polymer electrolyte membrane, a cathode catalyst layer and a cathode side gas diffusive electrode arranged in order on one side of the polymer electrolyte membrane, and an anode catalyst layer and an anode side gas diffusive electrode arranged in order on the other side of the polymer electrolyte membrane. The cathode catalyst layer includes a carrier in which a catalyst component is carried, a substance having an oxygen storage and releasing action, and a polymer electrolyte, and/or the anode catalyst layer includes a carrier in which the catalyst component is carried, a substance having hydrophilicity, and the polymer electrolyte. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
