<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit capable of suppressing the consumption of print consumables when printing a ground tint without deteriorating a copy suppression function, and to provide an image processing method and an image processing program. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 3 has: an amount-of-consumption estimation section 100 for estimating the amount of consumption of toner; a density correction section 110 for correcting density so that density in a printed image is reduced according to the estimated amount of consumption of toner; and a ground tint generation section 120 for synthesizing a ground tint pattern to the printed image of which the density has been corrected. The density of the printed image is reduced without reducing the density of the ground tint pattern itself, thus reducing the amount of consumption of toner in the ground tint print when printing the pattern without reducing the copy suppression function of the pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
