<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clock frequency control method and a computer program that can appropriately change the clock frequency of a processing unit in accordance with the number, scale or computational complexity of application programs executed. <P>SOLUTION: Correspondences between a plurality of application programs APs executable by a CPU 1 and required throughputs are stored in advance in an application table AT, and correspondences between total required throughputs and clock frequencies are stored in advance in a clock frequency table CT.
