PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery using a battery can formed by applying deep-drawing pressing work to a nickel plated steel plate, having improved high-load pulse discharging performance while maintaining liquid leakage resistance. SOLUTION: The sealed battery uses the battery can 11 whose inside face 113 contacting at least positive electrode mixture 21 has such a rough-surface condition along the circumferential direction that its 1μm or more deep valley appearance frequency is 10 sites/1 mm or less and its 0.1-0.5μm shallow valley appearance frequency is 200 sites/1 mm or more.
