PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metallic fine particles with nanometric sizes, which form a metallic coating film having a low specific resistance value and high adhesiveness, particularly when formed by using the particles. SOLUTION: A method for producing metallic nanoparticles includes the steps of: subjecting a solution containing a metal salt of an organic acid (hereafter referred to as "the first metal salt of the organic acid") and an amine compound to reduction treatment (hereafter referred to as "the first reduction treatment") by adding a reducing agent thereto; and then, subjecting the resultant solution to reduction treatment (hereafter referred to as "the second reduction treatment") by adding a solution containing a metal salt of an organic acid (hereafter referred to as "the second metal salt of the organic acid") and an amine compound thereto.
