PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for molding an optical device which can perform fine adjustment by a simple structure without providing a complicated adjusting mechanism, and thereby an optical device having an extremely small tilt angle of optical surfaces and high eccentricity accuracy can be formed. SOLUTION: In a method for forming an optical device which comprises feeding an optical material 26 into a space 25 formed by an upper mold 21, a lower mold 22 and a barrel mold 23, and then heating and compression-molding this optical material 26, the method comprises heating and compression-molding the optical material 26 in a state where a rotationally asymmetrical temperature distribution to the optical axis of the optical device to be molded is provided.
