PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently treat waste by discharging a large quantity of a combustion waste gas without using a large-sized fan to prevent the increase of equipment cost. SOLUTION: The waste gas treating system 1 for a cement production apparatus includes: a main exhaust part 2 for exhausting the combustion waste gas G1 from a preheater 7 through a main exhaust pipe line 9 connected to a top cyclone 7a of the preheater 7; a cooler exhaust part 3 for exhausting a cooler waste gas G2 produced in a clinker cooler 8 through a cooler exhaust pipe line 14 connected to the clinker cooler 8; and a branching pipe line 20 for introducing a part G4 of the combustion waste gas G1 flowing the main exhaust pipe line 9 by allowing the main exhaust pipe line 9 and the cooler exhaust pipe line 14 to communicate with each other. The main exhaust part 3 is arranged above the main exhaust pipe line 9, includes a main exhaust fan 10 for taking-in the combustion waste gas G1 from the preheater 7 to the main exhaust pipe line 9 and the branching pipe line 20 introduces a part G4 of the combustion waste gas G1 exhausted from the main exhaust fan 10 into the cooler exhaust pipe line 14.
