PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT system for performing a contrast radiography by a helical shuttle scanning smaller in the amount of exposure, and to provide a scanning control method. SOLUTION: An X-ray CT system for performing the contrast radiography by repetitive reciprocal helical scanning of the same part of a subject repeats the reciprocal helical scanning (solid line arrow) including helical scanning by an X-ray of a second X-ray amount higher than that of a first X-ray in repetition of the reciprocal helical scanning (dotted line arrow) by the X-ray of a first amount of the X-ray. A start timing of the helical scanning by the X-ray of the second amount of the X-ray is determined on the basis of a change in CT value in an area of interest of an image radiographed by the helical scanning by the X-ray of the first amount of the X-ray.
