The holder (2) comprises a holder portion capable of holding more than one tool, preferably with small tools hanging from it and the shafts of larger tools inserted into it; a fastener system for releasably securing the holder to a dustbin or wall, preferably comprising one or more hooks for hooking inside the dustbin or to fasteners on the wall; and handles for gripping the holder, securing the holder to the dustbin or wall, and removing the holder from the dustbin or wall. Removal and securing of the holder is preferably done by tilting it. An independent claim is also included for a second holder for tools with a shaft, comprising a first holder portion for the shafts, preferably a frame through which the shafts can be pushed; a second holder portion located at a distance from the first portion and used to hold the shafts, preferably the ends of these shafts; a connecting portion extending alongside the tool shafts and joined to one end of the first holder portion and an opposite end of the second holder portion; a fastener portion for releasably securing the holder to a movable dustbin, preferably a wheelie bin, this portion preferably being provided on the connecting portion and preferably securable to the bin by hook action; and handles on the holder, preferably on the first holder portion, for tilting the holder away from the bin.
