A method for receiving messages and a terminal thereof are provided to register contents to be delivered to a subscribed community in an SMS message and select and receive only the SMS message of the subscribed community, thereby not receiving a spam SMS message and reducing cost according to receiving the SMS message only when the user desires the reception of the SMS message. A mobile terminal(110~114) connects to an SMS(Short Message Service) server(130) through a communications network(120). The mobile terminal registers in a community and registers SMS messages about an advertisement or information in the community registered. The mobile terminal provides the subscribed community joining to an SMS received menu as a list. The communications network provides a transmission path so that the mobile terminal transmits and receives data with the other terminal. When the community is designated from the mobile terminal and there is the origination request of the SMS message from the mobile terminal, the SMS server stores the SMS message of sending contents in the designated community. A communications server(140) produces and holds a plurality of communities. |
