An optimal use of buffer space by a storage controller which writes retrieved data directly to a memory is provided to support various operations with small buffer and memory size. A storage controller(120) controls access request to a plurality of secondary storage units. A buffer(210) is formed. A control unit(220) receives a first read request designating a first data sequence from a first secondary storage unit and a second read request designating a second data sequence from a second secondary storage unit. A master unit(250) transmits the first data sequence and the second data sequence in a main memory.
