A field sequential driving-type LCD device is provided to apply a high electric potential for reset time, thereby carrying out an effective reset action in a short time. An LCD element has plural liquid crystal cells(C) arrayed in matrix shape. Plural switching elements(TR1~TR3) and plural capacitors(CL, Cs, Ca) are equipped on each liquid crystal cell. One of the plural capacitors is a liquid crystal capacitor formed by an upper substrate of the liquid crystal cells, a lower substrate, and a liquid crystal injected between the substrates, and a first common voltage(Vcom1) is applied to one electrode of the liquid crystal capacitor. Among the rest of the capacitors except the liquid crystal capacitor, a second common voltage(Vcom2) is applied to at least one electrode that forms at least one capacitor. The second common voltage is applied in fixed electric potential type. |
