The device (10) has an optical interferometric measuring system (1) e.g. Michelson interferometer, determining a relative position (A) of retina (41) of a human eye (4). A non-interferometric measuring system with a distance measuring system, determines a relative position (B) of cornea (42) of the eye on the basis of light reflected and/or scattered from the cornea of the eye. A processing unit (3) determines an axial length of the eye based on the relative position of the retina and the relative position of the cornea. A light projector (21) projects light beam from the cornea. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining an axial length of a human eye in a non contact manner. |
