METHOD OF EMERGENCY SERVICE REQUEST USING CONTROL CHANNEL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An emergency service request method using a control channel in a wireless telecommunications system is provided to transmit the emergency service request message through the control channel and minimize transit delay and power consumption of data. A terminal and a base station perform a general operation in order to set up connection(S301). The emergency situation where the terminal requests the emergency call or urgent data as the base station is generated(S302). The terminal scans UL-MAP and selects random sub channel, symbol, and a band code. The band request code for the emergency service request is transmitted from the terminal to the base station(S303). The terminal transmits the BW-REQ code with the base station and the terminal can perform the band request for the emergency service(S304). The base station receiving the BW- REQ(Bandwidth Request) code is the sub channel through UL-MAP.
