A mineral-mining plough consists of two spaced apart ploughing and/or loading sections 10, 11 connected to each other by a connector 12, e.g. a heavy duty spring, of variable length and two frames 16, 17 hinged to the sections at 19, 20 and to each other at 18, the frames carrying at the apex tools 22 for detaching mineral undercut by the plough section or sections. The tools 22 are so mounted on the hinge pin 18 connecting the frames that they may tilt about the pin to a limited extent. To allow of operation of the tools at varying heights one frame 17 can be connected to the associated section 11 at one of a number of positions 21. A fluid-actuated piston-cylinder unit 41 is provided to move the frames and sections relatively to one another when the height of the tools 21 is to be adjusted. |
