TRANSGENIC LETTUCE PLANTS PRODUCING INCREASED TOCOPHEROL CONTENT

摘要

A transgenic lettuce plant having increased tocopherol content is provided to increase anti-oxidative activity of the lettuce plant, so that it is applicable to the food science and technology field. The transgenic lettuce plant having increased tocopherol content is produced by transforming the lettuce plant with a recombinant vector containing the gene encoding TC/VTE1(tocopherol cyclase) protein which is derived from Arabidopsis thaliana associated with synthesis of tocopherol and has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:4.
