An audio volume control device and method are provided to shift to desired volume rapidly by setting the volume interval of volume control section flexibly in the user preference volume mode. An audio volume control device comprises a first step of confirming the current volume control section according to whether a specific key is input in the user preference volume mode(S22), and a second step of changing the volume interval into the standard volume interval and regulating the volume of audio when the current volume control section is a user preference volume section, while regulating the volume of audio according to the standard volume interval when the current volume control section is another volume section, not the user preference volume section(S24).
