<p>Solar cells (6) are located in the fabric mesh holes (2) and connected to electrical conductors extending along the warp and/or weft yarns. A fabric (1) has an open structure with mesh holes formed between warp yarns (3) extending in the fabric length direction and weft yarns (4) made from a flexible or rigid material and extending in the fabric width direction. At least one solar cell is located in at least one mesh hole region. The solar cells are connected to one or more electrical conductors extending along the warp and/or weft yarns.</p>
