A plasma plane lamp is provided to maintain high luminance and to realize stable discharge characteristic by forming barrier ribs being intersected with each other. A rear plate(120) is arranged and spaced away from a front plate(110). The rear plate is sealed with the front plate by a sealing material(130). A barrier rib(140) is arranged between the front plate and the rear plate at regular intervals to form a discharge space. A pair of electrodes are arranged on an external surface of a lower surface of the front plate. The pair of electrodes are comprised of a first front electrode(161) and a second front electrode(162). The front electrode is arranged at a side of the lower surface of the front plate. The second front electrode is arranged at another side of the lower surface of the front plate. Discharge is induced in the first front electrode and the second front electrode due to a mutual potential difference. The front plate and rear plate are made of one of glass and metal. |
