A packet transmission method for reducing efficient overhead of a header is provided to omit the header including the information identical with the header when transmitting previous packet and to transmit the packet including the compressed header. A terminal supports a header omission function(S601). The header omission operation is activated(S602). In case the header omission operation is set up as activation, the VoIP packet in which the general MAC header is included is transmitted from the terminal to the domain allocated in the current frame(S603). The terminal transmits the VoIP packet omitting header from next period(S604-S605). The header information update request message in which the target connection identification is included is transmitted from the terminal to the base station(S607). If the base station receives the header information updata request message, the header information update response message is transmitted to the base station with the response about this to the terminal(S608).
