A rubber composition is provided to ensure high abrasion resistance, long lifetime and low rotation resistance and to improve the fuel efficiency of the vehicles mounting the tire. A rubber composition is obtained by mixing a rubber component and carbon black. The rubber component comprises at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a natural rubber, a synthetic isoprene rubber and a synthetic diene-based rubber. The carbon black satisfies the relation of X / Y>=0.84 measured by a mercury porosimeter, wherein X is a mercury induction specific surface area and Y is a CTAB specific surface area.
