A method and an apparatus for measuring velocity of an object are provided to measure velocity and a direction of a flying golf ball by using a simple method. A first light source(41) emits an unparallel light beam. A first optical sensor array is formed to sense the light beam radiated from the first light source. A first optical sensor net(70) is formed to provide shadow information about a shadow formed in the first optical sensor array. A second optical sensor array is formed to sense the light beam radiated from the second light source. A second optical sensor net(80) is formed to provide the shadow information about the shadow formed in the first optical sensor array. A control unit obtains velocity of an object by calculating a traveling time of the object passing through the first optical sensor net and the traveling length of the object. |
