A media apparatus of transmitting a broadcast program and a method thereof are provided to store a desired broadcast program and transmit the program to a portable media reproducing device automatically so that a user may confirm and transmit the broadcast program without inconvenience. A controller carries out the reservation for a specific broadcast program according to the input from a user(S405), and stores the broadcast program based on the reservation(S410). When an external device to which an intrinsic address is inputted is connected to a digital TV through a home network according to the selection of the user, the controller checks over the intrinsic address which is inputted to the external device(S415) and confirms the broadcast program corresponding to the intrinsic address(S420). The controller transmits to the external device a broadcast program which is not duplicated with the specific broadcast program(S425).
