A water culture method using the remaining food and elvan is provided to purify the water of a river or a lake and to improve the surrounding scenery. A water culture method using the remaining food and elvan comprises the steps of preparing a floating mat made of a certain material having a certain size; filling a water purifying agent and clay sand into the floating mat; and sowing the seed of plants and crops on the floating mat. Preferably the water purifying agent is prepared by using the remaining food and elvan.
